Farmer's Market

BrunoCasa Nueva has been attending the Athens Farmers Market on and off since 1997.  We took a break from 2005-2008 during and following the expansion of our cantina and the addition of the Bodega just to smooth out our systems in the restaurant.  In 2008, our food and marketing coordinators thought it would be great to make it back there again.  Everything for Casa comes full circle at the Athens Farmers Market.  Bruno and MichelleMany of our producers are vendors at the market, and many of the goods we sell there are made with their products.  We also thought it would be a great way to form stronger relationships with them and our community.

BrunoThe Farmer's Market crew is responsible for packing up salsas, guacamole, salad dressings, marinades, baked goods, soysage (the only un-meat at the market!) and any other products they choose to sell.  They load up a vehicle, transport it to the AFM and set up shop on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-1pm.  They must be knowledgeable about our products and business, events and happenings at our restaurant, and how to give directions (which, in a small college town, can actually be really, really hard!).  They also must be good at smiling at customers and selling all-organic-double-chocolate-brownies.  After market, they are responsible for tearing down, packing up, bringing what's left back to the restaurant, and totalling up the day's sales.
